Our Story

Earthen Bear Botanicals started with a simple idea: bath and body care should feel as good as it smells.

I’ve always loved fragrance, baths, and the way scent can completely change a moment. But I often found myself wanting something different—richer, more layered fragrances instead of overly sweet scents, and products that felt just as good on the skin as they smelled in the bottle.

So I started experimenting at home.

What began with fragrance quickly became a lot of testing, reformulating, and figuring out what actually made a difference.

With the bath bombs especially, I became less interested in creating the biggest fizz or brightest color and much more interested in how the water felt. Ingredients like kaolin clay, colloidal oatmeal, jojoba oil, and sweet almond oil became part of the formula because of the soft, silky bath they helped create.

That idea still guides Earthen Bear today: make products for the experience, not just the appearance.

Everything is made in small batches here in Massachusetts, with layered fragrances that feel grown-up, distinctive, and never unnecessarily sugary. From Dark Calm’s woods, leather, and amber, to Moon Veil’s soft lavender, sandalwood, and bergamot, to First Light’s bright grapefruit, sweet orange, and rosemary, each scent is created to have its own personality—layered, grown-up, and never overly sugary.

Earthen Bear Botanicals is still growing, but the reason I make it hasn’t changed. I want to create products that turn an ordinary shower or bath into something you genuinely look forward to—and products I’m proud to use in my own home.
